Memorial ID 40767438"Additional Information Posted: "Born Feb. 27, 1955, at Grundy, Va., he was the son of Helen Lorane Gilliam-Thompson-Arnold (1922-2015) of Tazewell, VA, and the late Edgar Rush Thompson (Deceased).
"Mike had been a resident of this area for 33 years and was a member of the Christian Fellowship Worship Center, Bear Hole Road. He was employed by Brody Mining in Boone County and was a former employee of Twin Falls State Park. He loved the Lord and going to church and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Katelin, whom he called "Paw Paw's Angel" most of all. Mike was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
"In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Thompson (Deceased) and Billy Thompson (Deceased).

"Some people walk this earth for a short time, their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us."Last week on January 12th at 1:45 AM, Suzanne Ilene Thompson, known to many as Susie, received her wings in heaven. Susie was a compassionate loving Mom, Sister, Grandmother and a great Friend to many. Born to Ruby Lively and Golden Lively on August 3rd, 1954. Susie moved to West Virginia in 1974 and married her beloved husband, Michael Ray Thompson, who was the love of her life, predeceased her in 2009. She has missed him greatly since, and has joined him in heaven. Susie is survived by her only son, Michael “Shannon” Thompson and his wife, Angela. Susie has two brothers, Leondis Lively and Roger Lively, a sister Velma Rife who is predeceased and a dear friend John Rife; grandchildren, Katelin Thompson, Leland Thompson, two bonus grandchildren Alyssa and Johnny; along with nieces and nephews.
"Susie was a woman of strong Faith. She was very loved by many, a special soul that put others first always. There was no mistaking the genuine love and compassion held in her heart.
