"Preston Short, 55, of Eccles, WV passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 23, 1969 in Welch, WV a son of Janice Chambers Cline of Lillydale and the late Roger Short. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents Walter and Sadie Chambers and Jim and Beulah Short. In addition to his mother survivors include his wife Debbie Short, step children Christina (Rick) Anderson of Pineville and Jeremiah (Paige) Stacy of Turkey Dip, adopted son Dallas, a sister Brenda (Brady) Rowe, brothers Dale Short, Danny “Jay” Short, Danny Brown, Greg Lester, and James Bunch, three step brothers Clayton, Thomas, and Clifton Brown, and David Arrington all of Lynco, step sister Belinda Hamilton of Lynco, his step mother Brenda Arrington of Lynco, aunts and uncles Jennifer Chambers of Oceana, Buck and Barb Short of Clear Fork, Gerald Chambers of Pineville, and Terri and Donald Vanover of Clearfork, special friend Crystal Hatfield, a special niece Amber Short, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, April 29th at the Rock View Pentecostal Church, Rock View, WV with Pastor Jason Perdue officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Short Cemetery, Clear Fork, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of service on Tuesday at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco. WV."
