MOS: 0311 Rifleman."When Freddie arrived in Vietnam, he was assigned to 2nd Platoon of Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Kilo Company was on a patrol when Freddie and another Marine detonated a hostile booby trapped explosive. Freddie died as a result of fragmentation wounds to the body from the explosion.
