"Mrs. Elledge was born February 24, 1913 in Wilkes County to Robert Cornelius “Neal” and Molly Oma Shepherd Wood. She was a member of Baptist Home Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ford Wood, William “Bill” Wood, Edward “Ed” Wood, Robert Cornelius, Jr. “R.C.” Wood, Richard “Rich” Wood, and two sisters, Georgia Whittington and Hazel Anderson. Surviving are four daughters, Molly Ann Dunn of Raleigh, Amanda Jane Smith and husband, Larry of Glendale Springs, Helen Katrina Swinson and husband J.L. of Supply, Jo Rhetta Cash of Gastonia; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three grandchildren. "Funeral services were held 12:00 o’clock Monday, October 3 at Baptist Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Tate and the Rev. Mark Hollar officiated. Burial was in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family wast at Baptist Home Baptist Church from 11:00 until 12:00 o’clock on Monday, prior to the service..."
