"Betty Gaye Ellis Burgess, 74, of Ravencliff, WV passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born on April 8, 1950 in Glen Rogers, WV a daughter of the late Virgil Andrew and Mary Hazeline Brown Ellis. Betty was a retired Psychometrician employed by Mari Sullivan Walker, INC. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five siblings Carl (Isabell) Ellis, Jimmy (Mary) Ellis, Virgil (Dolores) Ellis, Clyde (Alice) Ellis, and Magdalene Ellis, brother and sister in laws, Nathan “Leroy” Tweed, Richard Poore, Jewell (Lawrence) Bailes, Ivan Dale Burgess, and Gary Lee Burgess. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband Larry Donald Burgess, two children Larry Donald (Carissa Sanders) Burgess, Jr. of Knoxville, TN and Mary Beth (Allen Ray) Adams of Pineville, WV, seven grandchildren, her only granddaughter Skyler Brooke Burgess, Dyland David Burgess, Keaton James Burgess, Allen Ray Adams, Zachary Charles (Derek Kennedy) McMillion who she raised, Jackson Christopher Lattie who she raised, a step grandchild Seth Allen Adams, a sister Patty Walker, a brother Roger (Joann) Ellis, sister in laws Edna (Jeff) Farris, Charlotte ”June” (Connie) Bailey, Charlotte Burgess, Rebecca Tweed and Geraldine Poore, special friends Rachel and Willis Tolliver and Linda Wiker. "Dora Elizabeth Stafford Toler, 81, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 22, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley. She was born February 19, 1943 in Matney Town, WV, a daughter of the late George Early and Agatha Chandler Stafford. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Gene, Bill, John, James, Donald, Jack, Charles, Curtis and George Stafford, her sisters Natalee Buckland, Anna Sizemore and Neoma Stafford, two great grandsons Jaxon and Conner Toler, her ex-husband and best friend Pete Toler. She was a member of Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Lillydale, WV. Survivors include a son Randy Toler and wife Robin, grandsons Aaron (Kassi) Toler, Jeremy (Kashawna) Toler and Donavon (Haleigh Sparks) Toler, a great granddaughter Raylynn Toler, brothers David (Millie) Stafford of OH and Bobby Stafford of Shady Spring, sisters in law Donna Stafford of Fayetteville and Carol Stafford of Beckley, and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday May 28, 2024 at the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, Lillydale, WV, with Bro Gary Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Toler Cemetery, Sunhill, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12:00 pm until time of service at the church. "Bobby Joe Riddle, 49, of Oceana, WV passed away on in the early hours on Wednesday, May 16, 2024 at his home. He was born on January 28, 1975 in Man, WV a son of Charles and Patty Lusk Riddle. Bobby was a 1994 graduate of Oceana High School. Shortly after high school he went to work at Logan Mingo Mental Health for several years. He worked for Evans Family Funeral Home and Rent-A-Center. He was liked and loved by everyone who knew him and was always joking and carrying on. He loved his kids unconditionally. He enjoyed summer beach trips, camping, ATV riding, going to flea markets and Kayaking. He liked having a good time, landscaping and making everyone laugh. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Glen and Essie Riddle, maternal grandparents Harlord and Gertrude Lusk, and father in law Jeff Laxton. Those left to love and cherish his memory include his high school sweetheart and wife Stephanie Riddle of 28 years, his precious children who meant the world to him, Alexander Riddle, Makayla Riddle and Elijah Riddle, brother Kenneth Riddle, mother-in-law Sandy “Dump” Laxton, father-in-law Clyde (Stephanie Miller) Clark, and a host of other loving family and friends. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 29th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Valdus Bailey and Rev. Herb Cook officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9 pm on Tuesday, May 28th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mickey Crouse, William Irick, Jamie Bartrum, AJ Lester, Steven Clark, Justin White, and JR Charles. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."
