"Ralph J. Cline, 85, of Ikes Fork, West Virginia, passed on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Born on August 8, 1935 in Bull Creek, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Epp and Mary Cline. He was also preceded in death by older brother Harold (Madeline) Cline. Ralph is survived by his wife of 38 years, Garnet H. Cline, of the home, step grandchildren Trevor and Raithlyn Godfrey, and stepdaughter Gina Leong."Additional survivors include his daughters: Venus Dellorso, Robin (David) Marcus, Rafaella (David) Colmie; grandchildren: Chris and Jake Dellorso, Josh and Jessica Marcus, Madison Colmie; several great-children; brothers: Donald (Kathy) Cline, Dexter (Charley) Cline, Kermit (Fern) Cline; sisters: Ethel Lester, Josephine Mullens, Brenda (Walker) Blankenship, Tammy (Tommy Hatfield) Lester; and several nieces and nephews.
"Ralph was the most giving man there ever was. Somehow, he was always cheerful and optimistic. He was a glass half full kind of guy. Ralph never complained, never had a harsh word, and always had the ability to make you feel better after speaking with him. He lifted you up when you were down and helped you see the goodness in all things. He had a playful sense of humor and an infectious, unforgettable giggle. Ralph was like sunshine on a cloudy day. He touched the lives all who were lucky enough to know him.
"Ralph never met a stranger. A gentle man and a gentleman, he was humble, compassionate, dependable, charming, tender-hearted, and generous beyond measure. Ralph believed in working hard and never giving up. He was a coal miner and a veteran
"An adventuresome soul, Ralph traveled 48 states alongside his wife. He found joy in good food and made sure to tell you to eat a bite for him. He and his wife spent many of their younger days at blue grass and country music festivals. Ralph often reminisced about his motorcycle rides and hunting trips with his brothers. He was a proud member of the Big Oak Bunch who went camping at the farm for 28 years. Ralph took pride in looking after his yard. Ralph lived a simple life with extravagant meaning, and he wouldn’t have had it any other way.
"It is a true privilege to have called Ralph Cline a friend. He was purely one a kind, and there will never be another like him. There isn’t a doubt Ralph will be dearly missed by all.
"In honoring Ralph’s adamant wishes, no services will be held."

"Garnet Helena Cline, known as Squeaky to many, 87, of Ikes Fork, WV, passed away on
Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Born on November 14, 1936, in Iaeger, WV, Garnet was the
daughter of the late Herbert and Sadie Cline. She was also preceded in death by husband
of 38 years and soulmate Ralph Cline and older brother Harold (Glada) Cline. Garnet is
survived by daughter Gina Leong, grandson Trevor Godfrey, granddaughter Raithlyn
Godfrey, and beloved 18-year-old dog who never left her side—Boo. Additional
survivors include daughter: Ginger Leong; grandchildren: Alicen Ho, Wilder
McAndrews, George and Wendell Titcomb; great-grandchildren; brother: Randall
(Linda) Cline; sister: Sandra Cline; and several nieces and nephews.
Garnet was exceptionally intelligent, deeply reflective, and highly empathetic. She was
wonderfully witty and delightfully silly; she was a real hoot, an absolute crackerjack. She
found contentment and peace in self-expression through creative and artistic outlets like
writing, painting, crocheting, hairstyling, fashion, cooking and baking, and much more.
She dabbled in a slew of hobbies and pastimes and was admirably talented at many
pursuits. She was passionate about capturing life's precious moments with family and
friends through photos and videos.
Garnet was a proud beauty shop owner and licensed cosmetologist in West Virginia and
Hawai'i. She enjoyed playing volleyball and tennis and going bowling—leisurely and as a
member of a league. Garnet had a soft spot for all animals, but a particular fascination
with birds. She got pleasure from piddling in the yard, knee-deep in the garden, and
tending to her plants and flowers.
Garnet traveled to and lived in several places across the world, including Hawai'i (for
over 20 years), Wake Island, and Okinawa. She visited 48 states and ventured to multiple
countries outside of the US, including China and Japan.
Garnet and Ralph frequented bluegrass and country music festivals in their younger days,
making sure to check out any good-looking flea markets that popped up along the way.
They journeyed around far and wide in their motorhome—sightseeing, camping,
celebrating life, and making beautiful memories.
Garnet surely was a sweet, special, and warm soul. It’s a true blessing to have known her,
and there isn’t a doubt that she will be dearly missed by all. In honoring Garnet’s
adamant wishes, no services will be held."
