"Eden ---- Jerlyn Belcher, 76. of 1805 E. Maryland Avenue, went home to be with his Lord and Savior,
on Thursday night, December 8, 2011 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.
"A funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Devember 11, at the Pleasant View Baptist
Church. Pastor Torrey Easler and Assistant Pastor Terry Bailey will be in charge of the service. The family will receive friends prior to the service (4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.) at Pleasant View Battist Church and other times at the residence.
"Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 12 at Danview Cemetery,
"Mr. Belcher was born April 6, 1935 in McDowell County, West Virginia, son of the late George
Washington Belcher and Frances Kemp Belcher. He was a 56 year member of Pleasant View Baptist
Church and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.
"Surving are his sister, Elizabeth Heaps and husband Norman of Merritt Island, FL; nephews, Ralph Bailey, Tommy Mitchell, James Mitchell, Paul Belcher, Jr., Jimmy Belcher, George Belcher, Jr., Danny Grogan and Marty Grogan; and nieces, Juanita Mendoza, Sue Munsey, Pauline Perry, Cathy Church, Diane Combs and Wanda Collins.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Gilley Belcher; brothers, Russell and Paul Belcher; sisters, Sadie Mitchell, Opal Griffith, Rita Price and Betty Grogan.
