Mr. Wellman was a coal miner for 41 years."He was born on February 21, 1909 in Chattaroy, Mingo County to the late Hugh Toney Wellman (1876-1948) and Lula May Nolan-Wellman (1890-1985) (per WV Delayed Certificate of Birth #4976, Mingo County, WV, Date of Issue: September 2, 1948). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Belle Mills-Wellman (1924-1997).
