"Ellis Eugene England, 89, of Capels, WV, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Welch Community Hospital in Welch. Born August 11, 1933 in Roderfield, he was the son of the late Dewey Franklin England and Pearl Adkins England."Ellis was a retired coal miner, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Capels Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Jimmy M. Logan; and two brothers, James O. England and Jackie H. England."Those left to cherish his memories are five daughters, Linda Williams of Staffordsville. KY, Laura Daniels and Jean D. England both of Welch, Diana Reed of Rodell, and Virgie Brown of Mooresville, NC; two brothers, Roger L. England of Moneta, VA and Dewey F. England Jr. of Fort Gay; one sister, Sedonia Wilhite of Fort Gay; fourteen grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
"Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the Capels Church of God in Capels at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Ronald Felts, officiating. Burial will follow the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Iaeger V.F.W. Post 1144 of Iaeger.
Friends may call at the church Wednesday evening after 6:00 PM."Pallbearers will be family and friends.

"Betty Lou Jackson, 88, 0f Welch, WV, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton. Born June 25, 1935 in Van Lear, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jack Adams and Virgie Lou Spencer Adams."Betty was a homemaker and mother. She attended the Capels Church of God for many years, when she was able. She was the last surviving member of her family. She also loved working Jig-Saw puzzles and crocheting.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Ellis England, the father of her children; one son, Jimmy Michael Logan; twelve brothers and sisters.

"Enoch was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He was also a proud veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Linda Hurley.
"He is survived by three children, Mary Jane Crouse and husband Curtis, Linda “Pay Day” Watts and husband Scott and Amy Sue Toler; eight grandchildren, Frankie Dotson, Kaytlin Browning, Brandon Toler, Dalton Watts, Jordan Floyd, Brooke Floyd and Shannon Floyd; seven great-grandchildren, and countless friends."
