"Roger Sherdian Hagerman,78, of Montcalm, WV, passed away peacefully, in the arms of Jesus, Thursday, January 18, 2024.'Roger was born February 5, 1945 in Jolo, WV a son of the late John R and Hettie Vance Hagerman. Roger was a retired coal miner having worked 31 years at various mines including U S Steel and Maitland. He enjoyed gardening, tending to his blackberry bushes, attending auctions and raising chickens.
'In addition to his parents, John R. and Hettie Hagerman, Roger was preceded in death by four sisters, infant Rosa Belle Hagerman, Pinkie Gibson, Lula Waddell and Daisy Payne; seven brothers, Otis, Bill, Joe, Virgil, James, Thurman and Herman Hagerman; and his companion Vivian Morgan.
'Survivors include the mother of his children, Belva Hagerman; two daughters, Gloria Mullins and husband Eugene and Bonnie Hagerman; two sons, Eddie Dean Hagerman and Roger Hagerman Jr. and wife Hazel; three grandchildren, Kevin Hagerman, Miranda and Cassandra Mullins; one step grandson, Jacob Bradley and one step daughter Angie and Brady Ball; two step grandchildren, Madison and Zoey Ball; several nieces and nephews and a special friend of the family Brittany Arndt; four sisters, Julie Akers of Summerton, SC, Bertha Rowe of Avondale, Ruby Hale of Atwell Mountain and Linda Hess and husband Sammy of Jolo; one brother, Bobbby Hagerman and wife Thelma of Bartley; and special friends Laura Rivera and Betty Wyatt.
'Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 1 o’clock, with Reverend Charles Rose and Reverend Kenneth Davis officiating at the Jesus Church of Bartley in Bartley, WV. Burial will follow in the John R. and Hettie Hagerman Cemetery on Rockridge near Paynesville, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
'Friends may visit with the family Friday evening, January 26, 2024 after 6 p.m. at the Jesus Church of Bartley in Bartley, WV; evening services will be conducted at 7 o'clock.
