"Raymond Edward (Bob) Steele 73 of Defeat Branch Rd, Hanover, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 15, 2023, at his residence following a short illness. Raymond was born June 23, 1950, the son of the late Levi Horn Steele and Cora Mae (Lester) Steele, of Steele Hollow." Raymond was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church and a retired coal miner. He loved riding his 4-wheeler and working in his wood shop. His greatest desire was to be back with his companion and God answered his prayers.
" In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Dorothy Steele, a son Raymond Steele Jr., eight brothers and one sister.
"Left to cherish his memory are his three kids; his son Joseph Steele of the home, Tonya (Gary) Walker of Pads Fork, Crystal Steele and her companion Kewal Jasper or Pads Fork; Two granddaughters who he adored, Anna (Kevin) Lester of Little Huff Creek and Lori (Jordan) Collins of Browning Fork; Seven Great Grandchildren; Kelsee and Isaiah Lester, Alexis and Lillie Davis, Brayden, Landon, and Journee Collins. "Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 1 o’clock, with Reverend Adam Vance, Pastor Dennis Lester and Pastor Gary Walker officiating at the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Steeles Cemetery at Steeles, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening, December 20, 2023, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Evening services will be held at 7 p.m.

"Evelyn Faye Rose Lester, 76, of Creston, NC passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Ash Memorial Hospital in Jefferson, NC."Evelyn was born July 12, 1947 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late Troy and Delta Pruitt Rose.
"In addition to her parents Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Taylor Lester; one brother, Troy Lee Rose and one sister, Gloria June Rose.
"Survivors include her son Mark Anthony Lester of the home; three brothers Benny (Crystal) Rose, Allen (Faye) Rose, and Tim (Bonnie) Rose; three sisters, Arlene (Bill) Scott, Glenna (Elzie) Hicks and Ann Reeves; and numerous nieces and nephews.
