Gary B. Ramsey Sr

"Gary Ramsey 67, of Bud passed away Thursday April 6, 2017 at the Bowers Hospice House.

"Born November 29, 1949 in Pikeville Kentucky, he was the son of the late Tom and Opal Compton Ramsey.

"Gary was a coalminer for 22 years, and then spent the next 25 years as a plant operator at the Mullensville PSD, he enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, camping and driving through the woods. Gary was a member of Sweet Divine Baptist Church.

"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Opal Lena Murray, his grandson Donald Keith Ramsey II, and six brothers and sisters.

"Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Patricia Compton Ramsey. His three children: Kimberly Ramsey, Donald Keith Ramsey, and Gary Ramsey Jr. and his wife Ponya, and his grandchildren that he raised as his children: Kimberly Privett, Darrell Privett, and Walker Ramsey. 6 grandchildren: Lexus Halloway, Kelsey Crisenbery, Brittany Grimmett, Gary Ramsey III, Hunter Ramsey, and Braydon Ramsey. Two Great grandchildren Ambra Privett, and Kyrie Gibbs. Two brothers Homer Lee Ramsey, and Burnus Ramsey: Two sisters, Molly Adkins, and Stella Gaulke. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, many friends, and extended family.

"Services will be at noon Monday April 10, 2017, at the Marianna Freewill Baptist Church. Following the service he will be laid to rest in the Compton Family Cemetery, Skin Fork..."


Patricia Ann Compton

"Patricia Ann Compton Ramsey 69, of Pineville went home to be with her Lord on November 19, 2023.

"Born August 29, 1954 in Pineville, she was the daughter of the late James and Estelean Akers Compton.

"Trish enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with her family.

"In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gary B. Ramsey Sr. Two daughters: Opal Murray, and Kimberly Jewell. Two grandson's: Donald Ramsey II, and Donte Ramsey. Her brothers and sisters: Luke Compton, Carl Compton, Hershell Compton, Mark Compton, Donald Compton, Judy Cook, Donna Faye Sturgill, and Vicky Lambert.

"Those left to cherish her memory include, her three sons: Donald K. Ramsey, Gary B. Ramsey Jr. and Walker T. Ramsey. Her grandchildren: Kimberley Jackson, Darrell Privett, Lexus Holloway, Hunter Ramsey, Private Braydon Ramsey, Kelsey Crisenberry, Brady Terry, Brittany Grimmet, and Gary Ramsey III. Her great grandchildren: Lucia Barfield, Kyrie Gibbs, Ari Silvey, Vexly Privett, Atlas Terry, Warren "Cletus" Belcher, Julz Silvey, Amberlee Privett, Xander Terry, Zeva Halloway and Zoey Terry. Her brothers and sisters: Dean Compton, Lee Compton, David Compton, Edna "LuLu" Hawks, Rosemary Haynes, and Glinda Yeo. A host of extended family and countless friends.

"Born January 6, 1967 in Mullens she was the daughter of the late Tressie and Josephine Blankenship Lafferty.

"Lora loved walking in the woods, traveling to Tennessee, and spending time with her family.

"In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Billy Ray Blankenship.

"Those left to cherish her memory include her five sons: Shawn Lafferty and Megan, Adam Lafferty, Derek Lafferty and Cara, Bill Lafferty and Miranda, Tressie Johnson and Priscilla. Three sisters: Tammy Johnson, Tressie Lafferty Collins and her companion David, and Sheila Blake and her husband Ronnie. 16 grandchildren. Special care giver: Shandi Lafferty. Two special cousins whom she loved as sisters, Rachel Tolliver, and Tracy Evans. A host of extended family and countless friends.

"In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date"
