"Irene (Granny) Stout, 89, returned to Jesus to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 8, 2008."She was a member of Damascus United Methodist Church in Damascus, VA.
She was the widow of John Orr Stout, and is survived by a son, Edward Stout of Graham, FL; three daughters, Janet Stout Thomas of Batesburg, SC, Judy Stout Potts of Cape Coral, FL and Brenda Stout Ion of Norfolk, VA; honorary daughter, Faye Stout; seventeen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister, Lillian Hamm Buckland of Ohio. She was preceded in death by two sons, Cecil and Johnny Stout; and her parents, Kenny and Minnie Hamm."A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2008, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 11, 2008, evening from 6pm to 8pm.
