He was the son of the late Everett H “Squeak” Watts and Drema Watts of Chapin, SC, formerly of Kopperston.
"In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son Benjamin Aldan Watts, and his companion and care giver Tara Lester.
"Gene graduated from Oceana High School, after graduation he attended West Virginia University, and also served in the United States Army. He was known to have amazing athletic abilities in sports, he was a friend to everyone. He was a caring, and giving person. Gene loved making people happy, he had a loving heart for those in need. He liked telling jokes and being a prankster, he loved sitting with his friends and sharing stories.
