"Glenn "Cool Breeze" Kirk, 69, of Welch, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023."Glenn was born on December 27, 1953, in Coalwood, West Virginia, where he later became a coal miner. He was a beloved father and grandfather who had a wealth of knowledge when it came to sports statistics. Glenn had played football for the Big Creek Owls, where he joked that he was the best little linebacker ever. In addition, he was an avid collector of baseball cards, coins, guns, knives, and race cars, and enjoyed deer hunting.
"In addition to his parents, Gaylord Kirk and Pearl Billings Kirk; Glenn was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Jo Kirk.
"Those left to cherish his memory include, his daughter Holli Kirk and her fiancé Andy Harvey; son Jason Kirk; grandchildren Taylor Kirk, Jason Edward Kirk II and Marionna Kirk; sister Janice Pierce; special friend Joann Mullins; and a host of other friends and family.
