"Roger Lee "Big John" Parks Jr., 56, of Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on July 25, 2023, at WVU Princeton Community Hospital."Roger was born on November 7, 1966, in Welch, West Virginia. He spent most of his years working as a Coal Truck Driver. He was a hardworking and reliable man. Roger was a loving husband, father, and brother. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
"Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Lee Parks Sr. and Donna Perkins Johnson; and his sister, Darlene.
"Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Erica Parks of the home; son Shawn Bragg of the home; twin sister Rita Justice of Panther, West Virginia; and sister Kathy Combs of Charleston, West Virginia; and a host of other family and friends.
"Graveside rites will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 2 o'clock at England Cemetery in Hensley, West Virginia.

"Jerry Ray Deskins, 53, of Avondale, WV passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 in Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV."Jerry was born September 12, 1969 in Delaware, OH a son of Sylvia Atwell Deskins and the late Jerry Junior Deskins.
"Jerry was preceded in death by his father Jerry Junior Deskins.
"In addition to his mother, Sylvia Atwell Deskins, Jerry is survived by his wife Kimberly Kennedy Deskins; one daughter, Tamara Correll; one son, Devan Deskins; three grandchildren; two brothers, Jason and Joshua Deskins; two sisters, Alysia Canterbury and Carissa Deskins and several nieces and nephews.
"Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 1 o’clock with Reverend Danny Bowles officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Deskins Cemetery on Atwell Mountain near Atwell, WV. Pallbearers will be Devan Deskins, Joshua Deskins, Samuel Wilmoth, Jason Deskins, Billy Joe Atwell, Shawn Reed and Christopher Reed.

"Phillip Austin Bias, 59, of Welch, West Virginia, passed away at his home on July 23, 2023. He was born on September 30, 1963, in Williamson, Kentucky to the late Clarence Bias and Louverna Farley Bias."Phillip was a master plumber by trade, but he was so much more than that. He had a million-dollar voice, and he loved to sing. He was a guitar player and loved music. He was a geek who had a thirst for learning and was always finding new ways to challenge himself. He was a lover of life and a teller of funny jokes. He loved hiking and exploring the outdoors. But first and foremost, he loved God.
"In addition to his parents: Clarence and Louverna, Phillip is preceded in death by his brother Chester Bias.
"Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Patsey Ann Bias; Sons: Christopher and fiancé Kayla of the home and Phillip Aaron and fiancé Kelsey of Sturgeon, Wisconsin; Daughter: Carrie Omega and husband Zachary Collins of Menomonee, Wisconsin; Grandchildren: Montana, Autumn, Gaia, Teagan, Caleb, Jemma, Everan, Kyrie, Leone and one on the way: Duncan; Sister: Brenda Coburn and husband Luke of Jamestown, New York; Brother: Herbert Bias and wife Karen of Oriental, North Carolina; Nephews: Steven Bias of Faribault, Minnesota and Franklin Evans of Conewango, New York; Niece: Samantha of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The burial will be held at Reed Cemetery in Roderfield, West Virginia. Pallbearers will be Christopher Bias, Aaron Bias, Steven Bias, Zachary Collins, Alex Martin, and John Jarvis.
