"Thomas Addison Dent, 66, of Davy, WV, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, at CAMC Memorial Division in Charleston, WV. Born January 25, 1957 in Rich Creek, VA, he was the son of the late Neal Dent and Barbara Lou Price Dent."Thomas was an electrician and welder in the construction business. He was a graduate of Welch High School and owned and operated Dent’s Construction in Welch. He was of the Methodist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Neal Steven Dent."Those left to cherish his memories are his companion of over 10 years, Janet Heath; two sons, T. J. Dent of Welch and Cody Morris Dent of Narrows, VA; three step-sons, David Lee Heath of Lexington, NC, Andy Heath of Bluefield, WV, Bobby Joe Heath of Davy; one step-daughter, Dawn Roberts of Pineville; two brothers, Timmy Dent of Beard’s Fork, WV, and Charles Dent of Wytheville, VA; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

"George "Butch" Denton Sr., 57, of Edmore Village, Welch, formerly of Big Four, died early Sunday morning, Dec. 17, 2006 at his residence after a short illness."Born Oct. 31, 1949 at Superior, he was the son of the late Homer Denton and Peggy Workman Denton. He was affiliated with the Pentecostal Holiness faith, was a disabled maintenance worker for Welch Gas Co-op, and Perry and Lee Plumbing. He was a resident of McDowell County most of his life and had resided in Welch for the past two months.
