She was the daughter of the late Nathan and Cordelia Roberts Hagy. Marilyn was born in McDowell County, W.Va. on September 22, 1922.
"She was a Christian and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marilyn retired from Buchanan County Department of Social Services. She was a member and Past Matron of Florence Ann Chapter No. 133, Order of the Eastern Star, Grundy, Va., and received her 50 year pin. She was also a Charter member of the International Order of Job’s Daughters and Past President of Buchanan County Senior Citizens Bowling League.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William (Bill) Mitchell and Theron O. Cruise; four brothers, James, Clyde, Cledith, and Robert Hagy; five sisters, Lydia Lockhart, Rinda Boggs, Marylou Bowman, Edna McClanahan, and Alice Kassem; daughter Lois Coleman; and son Marshall Mitchell."
