No. 7173 of Jacobs Fork Coal Co."He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ona Allen Senic; eight children, Mrs. Ona Whitt of Caretta, W. Va., Mrs. Martha

"FAYETTEVILLE – Cecil John Gibson, Sr., 80, went home to be with the Lord and his departed loved ones on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Bowyers Hospice House, Beckley.
Born on April 2, 1932 in Pikeville, KY, he was the son of the late William Gibson (Nov 1951) and Nora Belle Ratliff Gibson (Nov. 1971).
"Cecil was a devoted member of Cotton Hill Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the UMWA. He was a retired WV coal miner and retired from Central Appalachian Coal Company. In retirement he loved to work in the church, cut grass, and spend time with his grandchildren.
"Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Allen Gibson; granddaughter, Carrie Ann Myles; sisters, Faye, Kelsey and Velsey, and Alberta; and brothers, Kit, Lloyd, Jim, Sid, Carlos, and Johnny.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories are his wife of 56 years, Maxine Kincaid Gibson; two sons, Cecil John Gibson, Jr. and wife, Vickie of Fayetteville, and Randall Lee Gibson and wife, Tammy of Beckley; daughters, Nora Belle Myles and husband, Rick of Fayetteville, and Stella Mae Blake and husband, Eddie of Fayetteville; sister, Glema Rupert of Toledo, Ohio; eight grandchildren: Tracy, Rick, Matthew, Tyler, Brandon, Brittany, Ethan, and Hannah; five great-grandchildren: Landon, Kaelan, Evan, Hope, Ricky; and a host of other family and friends.

He formerly worked at the Dairy Bar in Iaeger, the Industrial News in Iaeger, Jimmy's Supermarket in Roderfield, and was a Security Guard for Pinkerton.
"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Shirley Willard Gibson, Jr. (1935-Deceased), Lawrence "Hoot" Earling Gibson (1937-2007), and Howard Gibson (1954-1974); a sister-in-law, Shirley Osborne-Gibson (1938-Deceased), a nephew John Gibson (Deceased) and his first wife and mother of his child, Theodosia H.
