2017 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV following a short illness. He was born November 1, 1928 in
Rockview, WV, a son of the late Fred H. and Faye Mullens Cook. Herbert was a beloved husband, father,
grandfather, uncle and friend. His kindness, loyalty and goodness drew people to him. He was a man of
great Christian Faith and exhibited unyielding love for his Savior. Herbert's love for his wife and family
revealed his amazing character. He was truly loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Herbert was
a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA, a US Navy Veteran and a member of the Toneda Baptist
Church in Kopperston, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Cletis Stewart and
a brother "Little" Roger Cook. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years Betty; his

and friend to all. She was a follower of Jesus and exuded His love with great grace and dignity. Betty’s smile lit
up the room, and her kindness was a gift that she gave to all that she came into contact with. Her love for her
family was strong and true. She will be missed by all that knew her. Betty was a member of the Toneda
Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69
