" Harrison Tyrone Coleman, 57, of Maylene, AL, formerly of Premier passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 in Alabama.
"Born January 11, 1960 in Pineville he was the son of Frances Goins Coleman, and the late Raymond (Kenny) Coleman. He was a 1978 graduate of Welch High School, and he worked in and around the coal mines the greatest part of his life. He was a Certified Mining Safety Professional and was an unlimited instructor for mining surface and underground. He was a life member of Post 1 Mine Rescue, a certified instructor, EMT and a certified pilot. He achieved numerous certification for safety in the mining community. He enjoyed fishing, flying and water sports.
"In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Randolph Coleman; paternal grandparents Harvey and Vienna Goins; and a nephew Douglas Coleman.
"In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Ruby Hughes Coleman of the home; two daughters, Tiffany Coleman of Maylene, AL, and Brittany Siron and husband Brandon of Buckhannon; two grandchildren, Naria and Brendin Siron; a brother Raymond (Tiny) Coleman and wife Patricia of Montevallo, AL, formerly of Premier; two nephews, Shawn and Kristal Coleman of Coal City and Nicholas and Ivy Coleman of St. Albans; and other nieces and nephews. He loved his two cats Simmy and Ahab and his family.
"Graveside services will be held Monday, August 14, at 12 Noon at the Hatmaker Cemetery in Shabby Run, Roderfield with the Rev. Grant Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery...."

"A sad shooting affray, between George Falkner and Wilburn Day, happened on the evening of the 17th of Feb. at the residence of Col. L.M. Day, some two miles from town. It
was an old grudge, caused by Wilburn Day shooting Falkner's dog some eighteen months ago. Falkner was living near Campton at the time the dog was shot, but since that
time, he has moved on L.M. Day's farm."Wilburn Day was passing through on his way from
Frankfort and stopped to stay all night with L.M. Day, and, while there, Falkner was passing and stopped at the fence and was talking with Mrs. Day, when he saw young Day
in the house. He sent for him to come out, for he had a settlement to make with him."Day would not go out, but went in another room and locked the door. Falkner forced his way through the door and struck at Day; when he did this Day shot him. Whisky was the
cause of all the trouble. Wilburn Day is a son of Marion Day, of Lost Creek. Mr. Falkner, when out of whisky, is a nice and hard working man. The doctors have given
him up, and he is expected to live but a short time. He will leave a very devoted wife and eight little children and a great many friends to mourn his loss."
