"Burns Duane Short, 67, of Brenton, WV passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Beckley VAMC, Beckley,
WV. He was born on December 19, 1949 in Baileysville, WV a son of the late Verlin and Flora Foster Short.
He is a 1967 graduate of Baileysville High School and a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. In addition to
his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Imogene Justus Short; a son Carl Douglas Short; two sisters
Verlene Bradford and Elizabeth Daniels. Survivors include two daughters Lena (Aaron) Younce of Hickory,
NC and Donna White of Brenton; a son Michael (Alegisha) Short of Brenton; a sister Janet Spears of
Matheny; a brother Larry (Dixie) Short of Pineville; seven grandchildren; and a host of other loving family
and friends. Funeral services will be held Noon on Friday, May 12, 2017 in the Chapel of Stafford Family
Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial
Gardens, Matheny, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites. ..."

"Imogene was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed playing bingo and playing with her grandchildren.

"A celebration of Imogene's life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating.
