She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—cooking delicious meals for her loved ones, taking walks, and cherishing time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for family was evident in everything she did.
"In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elbert Steele; her sons, Danny Ray Steele, Harry Steele, and Elbert Steele Jr.; four brothers; and three sisters.
"Nellie is survived by her daughters, Mary Deskins and husband Albert (Abby), and Candy Shirley and husband Donald. She also leaves behind 31 cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She is also survived by two special daughters-in-law, Patricia Steele and Blaine Steele, as well as a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
"Nellie left behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched through her kindness and unwavering devotion to her family.
