" Christina Gonzalez, 79, of Welch passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 in Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield.
"Born December 13, 1936 in Hemphill she was the daughter of the late Raymond Gonzalez and Elizabeth Naggie Gonzalez. She was a 1954 graduate of Welch High School, and a 1958 graduate of Concord College. She began her teaching career at Hemphill-Capels School, and taught for many years at Welch Elementary School. She retired from the McDowell County Board of Education in 1997. She was a member of the Hemphill United Methodist Church where she served as the organist.
"She is survived by special cousins and caregivers, Henrietta Pitts and Nancy Malenick both of Welch; and numerous other cousins.
"Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 15 at 11 a.m. in the Douglas Mortuary Chapel in Welch with the Rev. Olen Butcher-Winfree officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell...."

"Born February 9, 1951 in Welch he was the son of the late Clyde William Wilson, Sr. and Mary Ellen Blair Wilson. He was a contractor and owned Wilson Home Improvement. He was a Vietnam veteran of the US Army.
"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Clyde W. Wilson, III.
"Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melodye McFann Wilson of the home; his daughter, Jessica Yvonne Wilson of Carswell; a son, Gary Wilson of Schweinfurt, Germany; his granddaughter, whom he adored, Cecilia Chance Wilson of Carswell; two sisters, Claudia Frost and husband Sammy and Ellen McKenzie all of Hemphill; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sam Freeman of Gary, Rev. William Spencer and Curtis Spencer both of Welch, Bobby and Sheila Rose and their son Bobby Jr. of Thorpe, Dale Hunt of Premier, Gordon Spencer formerly of Hemphill, and Danny Blackburn of Premier.
