"Pastor Granville Mullins moved to his heavenly home on May 4, 2016. Granville was born in Krolitz, WV on July 3, 1940. He was preceded in death by a son, Teddy; his parents, Sol and Mabel Kennedy Mullins; brother, Solomon Mullins Jr. and his wife Sharon; brother Glen Mullins; and a special brother in law, Otis McCoy. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Jean; his son, Rusty Mullins of Iaeger, WV; and his daughter Angel Smith of Mooresville NC. Granville was the proud grandfather of Jade Angel Smith (Jadie Pooh) of Mooresville NC, Deanna Mullins (who was the apple of his eye and he his "Punkin") Matthew Mullins and Delaney Mullins all of Conover NC. He was recently blessed with a great grandson whom he adored, Luca Rhys Slagle. Granville was blessed to be apart of a large close-knit family. He loved his brothers and sisters, George Mullins and wife Martha; Danny Lee, and Sam Mullins and wife CC; Josephine Walker and husband Jack, all of Iaeger, WV; Joyce McCoy of Beckley, WV; Joann Anderson and husband Dusty of Kershaw, SC; Janet Dotson and husband Danny of Princeton, WV; and June Rose and companion Jim of Bluff City, TN. Granville cared deeply for his all his nieces and nephews and many came to visit often. He especially loved his nephew Danny Ray Mullins; his niece Misty Hurley; and his children of his dear friend and cousin Hank Kennedy: Lynn "Republican" Kennedy Crawford, Memory Kennedy Jr, and Charlie Kennedy. Granville was the pastor of the High Knob Church of the Living God for over 20 years. He loved his church and loved that he was called by God to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved his family more than life, always had a smile on his face and never gave up as he bravely battled his illness. He was always positive and forever making plans for the projects that he and Rusty would do when he felt better. Granville loved his little shanty on the mountain, loved to ride his tractor, loved to garden, and loved his sister Joyce's soup. He never met a stranger. Granville loved everyone and was in turn loved by so many. In his lifetime, he performed many weddings and was honored to baptize many brothers and sisters in Christ. Even though he spent his last few months in a hospital bed, he always had a smile on his face, especially for his sister Janet, as she spent countless hours sitting with him, comforting him. If one word could sum up all that Granville was, it would be Love. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 8, 2016, at 11 o'clock with Reverend Lewis Kennedy and Reverend Steve May officiating at the High Knob Church of the Living God on Coon Branch Mountain near Iaeger, WV.
