"James Larry “LC” Cook, 70, of Kopperston, passed away on Friday October 13, 2017. He was born on May 5, 1947 in Kopperston, the son of the late James Earl Cook and Edith Mullins Cook of Kopperston. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant niece Karri Topping and infant nephew, Micah Topping."Larry, known as “LC” or Brother” to many, graduated from Oceana High School in 1965. Many of his favorite stories to share were about being a member of the Oceana High School Basketball State Championship Teams of 1963 and 1965. He graduated with an Associate Degree from Beckley College in 1967 and then worked for 20 years at JC Hydraulics. He was also the main caregiver to his mother during her final years, a responsibility he proudly shared with his sisters.

"Granville Eugene McKinney Sr. 84 of Pineville went home to be with his Lord and Savior, after battling failing health for the last several years."Born September 1, 1933 in Basin WV he was the son of the late William Harrison, and Rutha McKinney McKinney.
"Granville was a kind and caring man, whom never met a stranger. He was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County. Granville was a retired coalminer and was a member of the UMWA. One of the many things he enjoyed when he was able was riding his motorcycle all around the area. He was a born-again Christian, he served the Lord for many years as a member of the Pineville Southern Baptist Church. He will be missed by the countless people that called him their friend.
"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson Matt Mitchell, and 8 brothers and sisters and his son-in-law Sonny Parks. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
"Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Eleanor McKinney, his 4 children Debbie Sexton, Granville (Sherry) McKinney Jr, Jonathon (Darlene) McKinney, and Jennifer (Dave) Owens . 4 step-Children Rita (Johnny) Gainer, Gaye Parks, Frank (Debbi) Adams, and Larry (Mary) Blake, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
"Services will be Thursday October 26, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Pineville Southern Baptist Church, Pineville, with Rev Gerald McKinney, and his Pastor Dewight Stafford officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. ..."
