"Frances Joy Wellman, age 84,of Brownsburg and formerly of Anderson , passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Brownsburg Healthcare and Rehab.
She was born on May 25, 1932, in Welch, West Virginia to the late Ray and Virgie (Mitchell) Wilson."On June 4, 1950 she married the love of her life Thomas W Wellman and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2004. Frances retired in 1994 from Delco Remy in Anderson after 43 years of service. She was a member of the U.A.W. Local 662 and of Cross Roads United Methodist Church in Anderson. Frances was very active in the church where she helped with the Thanksgiving Dinner for the homeless and shut-ins for many years. She was a volunteer and at one time director at In As Much Kitchen for 15 years. Frances was formerly active in the Madison County 4-H Extension Club and enjoyed baking and canning. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening. She will be remember for being a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
"Frances is survived by her children Mindy Davis of Indianapolis, Julie Wellman of TN, and Dennis Wellman of TX, grandchildren, Christopher Davis, Alicia Davis-Johnson, Hayley York, Joshua Wellman, ten great grandchildren, brothers, Harold Wilson of Alexandria, Jack Wilson of FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her father, Ray F Wilson, mother, Virgie Wilson, husband, Thomas W Wellman, and seven brothers and sisters."Funeral service will be at 7:00 pm Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Rev. John Hackney officiating. A committal service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 7, 2016 at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville. ..."
