"Pfc. Richard R. Cline, (above) son of Mrs. Gretrude Groce of Roderfield and Amos Cline of Twin Branch,
is reported slightly wounded in action in France on July 30, according to a telgram received by his
mother on 21 Aug, from the war department at Washington, DC."A letter received by Mrs. Groce, written by Pfc. Cline, stated that he is now in a hospital in England,
and that getting along nicely, but is not able yet to write very well."Pfc. Cline has been in service for four years and has not been home during that time."

Cline."The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Eastside Assembly of God, 1165 Prospect St., York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Heffner Funeral Home-North York, 1223 N. George St., York.
"Mrs. Cline was born in Panther, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Cleophas and Cosby (Bailey) Duty.
"She had been employed at Peter Paul Cadbury Co. and later retired in March 1991 from Wolfgang Candy Co. She was a member of Eastside Assembly of God Church.
"Mrs. Cline is survived by three sons, Billy Ray Cline of Windsor, Harold G. Cline of York, and Richard B. Cline of Thomasville; a stepson, Richard R. Cline of Panther, W.Va.; two daughters, Marcella A. Boyd of West York, and Charlotte F. Kapp of York; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Duty of Pineville, W.Va., and Rush Duty of Welch, W.Va.; six sisters, Tamery Shirley and Pearlie Foster, both of Pineville, W.Va., Ocie Mae Baker of Alabama, Jean Duty of Chicago, Millie Bailey of Panther, and Shirley Wells of West Virginia.
