"She was born on May 30, 1951 in Welch where she spent her life, and was the daughter of the late Herman and Helen Hawthorne Baker. She was also preceded in death by two infant brothers, and one infant grandson, Robert Herman Crouse.
"Cathy was a graduate of Concord University and received her Masters Degree from Marshall University. She wished to be remembered as a dedicated educator at Welch Elementary School where she taught for 33 years. She was devoted to her family, and enjoyed reading and working jigsaw puzzles.
"Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mike Crouse of Welch; two sons, Joe Crouse and wife Stephanie, and Jimmy Crouse all of Welch; her grandchildren, Michael, Marissa and Kaden; her special 2nd Mom, Mildred Ward of Iaeger; and special friends, Shirley Hillyer of Clintwood, VA, Liz Adkins of Shady Spring, Phyllis Rice of Iaeger, Mindy Nobles of Premier, as well as the rest of her Welch Elementary School family.
