"Robert Samuel McGuire, 67, of Montcalm, WV passed away Friday February 16, 2018 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 1, 1950 in Pineville, WV a son of the Mona Ruth Francis McGuire of New Richmond and the late Robert Samuel McGuire. Robert is a United States Marine Corp Veteran who served proudly in the Vietnam war with the 3rd Recon. He is preceded in death by his father and first wife Carol Joyce McGuire. In addition to his mother survivors include his wife Virginia McGuire; two sons Hunter McGuire of Montcalm and Bobby McGuire of Columbia, MO; two daughters Angela McGuire and Carolyn (Dale) Wilson all of Auxvasse, MO; a sister Gloria (Eppie) Cline of Oceana; a brother Jack (Pat) McGuire of Glen Fork; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; special friend and brother Steve Shircliff of FL whom is the last surviving member of the USMC 3rd Recon Team; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday February 18th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Ernest Francis, Jr. and Bro. Chris Brooks officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Glen Fork Community Cemetery, Glen Fork, WV...."

"Dr. Ebb Keister "Doc" Whitley Jr., a long-time physician of Iaeger, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at his residence in Iaeger."Born Nov. 17, 1934, Dr. Whitley was the son of the late E.K. Whitley Sr. and Pearl Long Whitley. As a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va., "Doc" began his medical career in his hometown in 1964 and continued to serve his community until his passing. He was known as a trusted physician who offered advice to those he served in a caring manner. He served his country as an Air Force veteran from the years of 1954 through his honorable discharge in 1958. In addition to his medical profession, he served his area through his various involvements with a love for the betterment of the community as a public servant. Having been elected as a member of the House of Delegates, he was always sought as an advisor to other political aspirants. He also served on the McDowell County Board of Education, the McDowell County Commission, the McDowell County Democratic Executive Committee, and a member of the American Legion Post 175. His interest included being an avid reader and he enjoyed raising a variety of animals.

"Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sue Hamilton Whitley, three sons, and a daughter. His sons are E.K. "Keis" Whitley III of Richmond, Va., Jack W. Whitley of Charleston, and Jeff Whitley and wife, Debbie, of Asheville, N.C.; his daughter, Jennifer Whitley McReynolds and husband, Jon, of Kingsport, Tenn.; a stepson, Scott Lowe of Asheboro, N.C.; and his sister, Phyllis Whaley of Cedar Buff, Va.
