He had proudly served his country in the 101st Airbourne during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded numerous medals, including 2 purple hearts. Fred enjoyed fishing and watching his grandson play Bluefield Beaver football. He was a loving father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Nancy Osbourne, Nora Hawkins and Juanita Coon.

"David Peake, 81, of Welch, WV, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at his residence. Born June 28, 1943 in Bland, VA, he was the son of the late John Anderson Peake and Biddie Jane Lambert Peake.
David was a truck driver for the Coco Cola Company for 22 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era."In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brother, Johnny Donald Peake and Larry Charles Peake; two sisters, Juanita Wills and Geneva Stout; one daughter-in-law, Teresa Peake.
