"Obituary from Fairborn Daily Herald - November 3, 1982"Virgie Bell Adkins, 67, of 22 Goodman Drive, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1982 at 10:35 a.m. in the Kettering Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for approximately six weeks. She was born Dec. 14, 1914, in Carroll County, Va., the daughter of William and Aulena Bowman.
"She was a member of the Maple Heights Baptist Church.
"Survivors include four daughters, Irene Adkins of Dayton, Margaret Adkins of Fairborn, Pearlene Mills of Medway and Arlene Dunnaway of Huber Heights; three sons, Robert of Lebanon, Ohio, Fred of Fairborn and Larry of Medway; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers.
"Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Burcham Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Maple Heights Baptist Church, 144 W. Funderburg Road, with the Rev. Winfield E. Strout officiating. Burial wil lbe in Byron Cemetery.
