"Most of Billy Joe’s career was spent with Buycrus-Erie, an American surface and underground mining equipment company. His work took him around the world before finally retiring to his hometown of Pineville.
"He was an avid hunter, loved to fish and was an expert gardener. Billy Joe enjoyed any activity that took him outdoors. He also was a craftsman, woodworker and could build anything.
"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepdad, Bill Daugherty, brothers, Roger and Herbert Cook, a sister, Cletis Calhoun and a daughter Sherri Fawn Cook.
