" Born August 19, 1954 in Welch she was the daughter of the late Lee Green and Lucy Combs Green. She was a homemaker and was the care-giver for her family. She gave the gift of life to others as she was an organ donor.
"In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by six brothers, Willis, Roscoe, Everett, Dave, Jay and Oley Green; and a sister, Sylvia Osborne.
"Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth Hurley of Welch-Pineville Road; a son Christopher Sharp of Mesa, Ariz; a daughter, Lucinda (Randy) Bailey of Welch-Pineville Rd; step-daughters, Tonya (Jerry) Pugalee of Tazewell, VA and April Hurley of Columbia, SC; sisters, Lizzy Phillips and Phyllis Osborne of Welch, Elizabeth Green of Welch-Pineville Rd, and Peggy Green of New Richmond; brothers, Leroy (Lorene) Green, Greg (Faye) Green, and Earl (Ruby) Green all of Welch-Pineville Rd.; grandchildren, Tyler Perdue, Madison Wallen and Ethan Wallen; and step-grandchildren, Ethan and Kiera Pugalee.

"Patricia S. Alexander Rhodes passed away peacefully March 4, 2004, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. Born March 21, 1934, in Bartley, McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lexie McCoy Alexander. She was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and Charleston School of Commerce. She worked for the Department of Highways and Transportation for 20 years and was a clerk at J.C. Penney and The Diamond department stores. Surviving: sisters, Alene Garnes and Carol Starcher of Charleston, Judy Frank and Peggy Bradshaw, both of Florida, Betty Chapman of Michigan; brother, Dan Alexander of Iowa; sons, Charles, Greg, David and Mark Rhodes, all of Charleston, Steve Rhodes of Florida; seven grandchildren.
