"BLUEFIELD — Donnelly L. (Lee) Snow, 79, of Augusta St. Bluefield, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, April 03, 2010 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, W.Va. Lee was born on March 29, 1931 in Mohegan, W.Va. to the late Charles F. and Lillie Mae Mahaffey Snow. He had been a resident of Bluefield, W.Va. since 1974. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 33 years of service and served his country with the U.S. Air Force in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Snow was a member of the American Legion, Following Footsteps Quartet and was a Sunday school teacher and choir director at the Cumberland Road Church of God in Bluefield, W.Va. He ministered through music to local nursing homes along with his wife Delores and longtime friend Cecil Surratt. He also assisted with the building of the YakkityYak playground at the Bluefield City Park. “He was an amazing man, was the sweetest and was one of the two best grandfathers ever. We'll miss him so much, but I guess it was God's will for him to go. I just feel like I need to say this. I Love You, DaDaw!” - Bethany Surratt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Arville, Otis and Charles Snow. Survivors include his wife, Delores A. Reeves Snow of the home; one son, Joseph D. “Duane” Snow and wife Regina of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; one daughter, Karen Surratt and husband Tom of Thompson's Station, Tenn.; one sister, Girlandean Craft of Mt. Airy, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Christopher Surratt, Amanda Snow, Jonathan Surratt, Matthew Snow, Elya Snow, Kristen Surratt and Bethany Surratt; three great-grandchildren, Skyler, Chloe and Allyson. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 06, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cumberland Road Church of God in Bluefield, W.Va. where the Reverend Danny Scott, the Reverend Michael York and the Reverend Jim Coe, Sr. will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. where the West Virginia Honor Guard will hold military graveside rites. Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. on Monday, April 05, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Fox, Christopher Surratt, Jonathan Surratt, Matthew Snow, Charles Reeves and Ray Reeves. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Davis and James Ward.
