"Mrs. Carol Sue England Christian 74 of Princeton formerly of Big Sandy passed away Thursday October 24, 2019 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center following a long illness. She was born May 12, 1945 in Kimball to the late William Howard and Hallie Peaks England and was the last surviving member of her family. Carol was a member of Cumberland Road Church of God in Bluefield, and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and being with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Christian and several brothers and sisters."Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Kevin Christian and wife Lisa of Princeton, Brian Christian and wife Alisa of Elkin, NC, one daughter Kristen Osborne and husband Mark of Big Sandy, five grandchildren, Jacob, Jonah, and Judah Christian, Miranda Osborne, and Rylee Odle, a special niece Anneliese Underwood. "Eulis D. Adams, 72, passed away Dec. 27, 1999, at Purnam Community Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born in Raven, Va., he came to Welaka in 1965 from Ashtabula, Ohio. He worked as a technician in research and education for over 26 years at the University of Florida. He held membership with the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1641, Crescent City and was a former member of the Crescent City Lions Club. He enjoyed country bands and played the bass guitar. In his spare time, he loved to fish, golf and bowl.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Jeanette Rowell of Welaka; sons and daughter-in-law, Roger D. and Penny Adams of Palatka; Eulis V. and Debi Adams of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Reva M. and Rodney Hoke of Ashtabula, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Shirley Adams of Welaka; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Roger "Sgt." "Bill H. Blankenship, 82, passed away on April 8, 2017 at home in Ripley, WV. Bill was one of thirteen children
raised by the late Virgil and Ruth Tilley Blankenship. He was born March 22, 1935 in the Sun Hill area of
Wyoming County and could tell many tales of his tough childhood. Bill graduated from Baileysville High
School class 1954, playing all sports. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by brothers:
Onnie Lee, Raymond, and Gene Blankenship and sisters: Florence Blankenship Maynor and Phostenia
Blankenship Belcher. Birth family survivors are brothers Bob, Hershel, and David of Hopewell, VA, Daniel of
Lockport, IL and sisters Mable Blankenship Ridenhour of Villa Park, IL, Frances Blankenship Jonas of
Chicago and Mary Blankenship Jones of Lexington, NC. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years Patty
Short Blankenship, children Terry (Dina) of Lugoff, SC; Keith (Melisa) of Lugoff, SC and Robin (Frank) of
Claytor Lake, VA. Grandchildren are Christopher, Benjamin and Will Blankenship, Morgan and Matthew

Kopperston for over 31 years. After retirement he enjoyed and took great pride in his and Patty’s farm in
Gay, WV. His greatest pleasure was being part of his grandchildren’s lives. He was a scrupulously honest

"Patricia Ann Short Blankenship, 79, of Ripley, WV passed peacefully on Saturday July 20, 2019 at her
home. Born February 20, 1940 in the Elk Lick area of Clear Fork, WV, the daughter of Agnes Ford Short of
Clear Fork and the late Leonard Short. In addition to her beloved father, she is preceded in death by her
husband of 59 years, Bill Blankenship in April 2017; granddaughter Christy Lynn Blankenship;
grandmothers Rebekah Bradbury Ford and Polly Shannon Short, who had a loving influence on her life; a
niece Kara Stewart Locke. Patty graduated from Oceana High School, the class of 1958. She was devoted to
her family and always put others before herself. She spent several years working as a dental assistant to
Pete Short, a job she loved. She left the dental field to be a full-time grandmother, a role she also loved.
Patty was a kind and gentle soul. She loved her family deeply including her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She
enjoyed her farm, cultivating her flower beds with daylilies and cannas and sharing them with others. In
addition to her mother, survivors include her sisters Sandy Short (Paul) Childress of Lynchburg, VA and
their daughters Becky Fritz and Beth Anne Bort; Debra Short Partridge of Loganville, GA and her daughter
Jamie O'Dell; three children, Terry (Dina) Blankenship of Lugoff, SC, Keith (Melisa) Blankenship of Lugoff,
SC and Robin (Frank) Shrewsbury of Claytor Lake, VA; grandchildren Christopher (Danell) Blankenship,
