"Richard Carper, 74, of Oceana, WV passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House,
Beckley, WV. He was born on April 27, 1943 in Oceana, WV a son of the late Callie Lee and Margie Carper.
Richard was a member of the UMWA and attended the Pineville In Jesus Name Church of God. He is
preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include a daughter Tabatha (Emory Dale) Crouse of
Kopperston; two sons Richard (Patty) Carper, Jr. and Gene Carper all of Oceana; three sisters Ginger
Blankenship of Oceana, Thelma Dancy of Cleveland, OH and Evelyn Blankenship of Oceana; a brother Phil
Carper of Oceana; two grandchildren Josh and Dee Crouse; friend Betty Trent of Mullensville; and a host of
other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in the
Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Leroy Lester and Elmer Dunlap officiating.
He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV..."
