"Alissa Gail Browning, 41, of Cyclone, WV went to her Heavenly home on Saturday September 11, 2021 at UK Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, KY. She was born on April 15, 1980 in Beckley, WV, a daughter of Bradley Gene and Teresa Gail Brown Browning. Alissa was a 1998 graduate of Oceana High School, graduated from Southern West Virginia Community College and Lyndsey Wilson College with a Bachelor of Science Degree, Teacher's Aide for the Wyoming County Board of Education and attended the Cyclone Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving, compassionate daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a great love for her family and cherished them very much. She also had a love for her school children, her church, and a passion for Christ. Her kindness and Christianity always showed in her daily life, at home, and towards others. Alissa was a generous, kindhearted person and was always willing to help others and go beyond expectations. She was a motherly example to children in every aspect of her life, including her nephew Uriah, her cousins, the church kids, and her school children. She had a passion and love for dolphins, swimming, and the beach. Alissa’s life will not be forgotten because of her impact on so many lives. Her love, laughter, and smile will always be remembered. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Clifford D. and Verna J. Toler Browning, and Shelby L. and Alma R. Elkins Brown and many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins. In addition to her parents survivors include a sister Kendra Browning Keeney and husband Steven of Oceana, a special nephew Uriah Keeney, other nephews and a niece Owen Keeney, Mazie Keeney and Alex Keeney, uncles and aunts Glen R. Browning and wife Betsy, Gary Browning and wife Sherlene, Clifford "Tip" Browning, Patricia Gail Brown, Shirley Brown and wife Zettie, Charlotte Brown Curry, Kathy Griffin and husband James "Bo", and Shelia Brown and a host of other loving cousins, family and friends. Although she had no children she was blessed to love so many and be loved by so many of them. She will be laid to rest in Lily of the Valley Cemetery, Oceana, WV. Phyllis was born August 12, 1963 in Welch, WV, a daughter of the late Lark and Virgie Collins Steele. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Her life was her only living son, Phillip. She enjoyed talking on the phone, cooking, and taking road trips when she was able. She loved spending time with her future daughter-in-law, Amber VanGilder, whom she called her "Little Angel." She also loved visiting and having meals with her special friend, Deloris VanGilder and grandson, Dakota. She loved joking around and caring on with her ambulance drivers. She was a kind and loving person, she loved her family dearly. A special thank you goes out to Neil and Sharon Hagerman and Johnny and Teresa Reynolds and their son Joseph Reynolds, for always being there. God bless y'all. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, her husband, Willie E. Pennington; one son, James Franklin Pennington; and two sisters, Rose Steele and Alice Roberts. "Waitman S. Brown, 71, of Cyclone, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 11, 2018 in Bowers
Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on March 23, 1947 in Cyclone, WV, a son of the late Shelby and
Alma Elkins Brown. Waitman enlisted in the Army in 1968 and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a
member of the honor guard and participated in many events including parades and funerals. He loved his
family and friends. He was a member of the choir at Campus Church of God. He loved to sing and play his
harmonicas in church. He was part of the gospel singing group "The Brown Family". He enjoyed fishing,
eating, camping and spending time outdoors. He was very talented at playing many different instruments.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years Shelia Marie Smith Brown; a son Eric (Linda) Brown; a
daughter Shannon (Arron) Fry; grandchildren Nicholas Grimsley, Kristopher and Katelynn Brown, Ezra and
Ella Fry and Zane, Kage, Chailee Jo Reed and Jarrett; His goddaughter Cailey "Sunshine" Lusk; two brothers
Shirley (Zettie) Brown and Bob (Martha) Brown; three sisters Charlotte (Raymond) Curry, Kathy (James
"Bo") Griffin, and Teresa (Bradley) Browning; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral
