"Ricky "Duke" Tilley, 66, of Sabine, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday May 17, 2018 in Beckley
ARH surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle,
brother and friend to many. He was born on February 25, 1952 a son of the late Curtis and Joy Phillips
Tilley. Duke worked 25 years as a coal miner, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching races and just
spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Kimberly
Wise; grandson Tyler Francis; five brothers Richard, David, Kenneth, Stevie and Jerry; and a sister Tammy
Francis. Duke is now in heaven waiting for his wife of 49 years Joyce Tilley; his daughters Tina (John)
Tilley, Michelle Tilley and Amanda "Boo" Tilley; two brothers Charlie (Sissy) Tilley, Gary "Porky" Tilley and
companion Janet; a sister Ronda Tilley and companion Gary; 10 grandchildren whom he loved dearly Justin
Ward, Natasha and Kelsey Hall, Josh (Kristen) Stewart, Austin (Kanisha) Pennington, Desirea (Zach)
Mullins, Travis (Shannan) Smith, Kyle (Miranda) Smith and Haley "Love Bug" Tilley; twenty great
grandchildren whom he admired; special friends Mike Smith, David Stewart and Shana Tilley; several
nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Monday May
21st at the Ark of Safety Church, Jesse, WV with Rev. Ernest Francis, III officiating. He will be laid to rest in
Tilley Cemetery, Twin Falls, WV...."

"Vernon Lee Hurley, 75, of St. Simons Island, Georgia, passed May 17, 2018 in Carillion Memorial Hospital,
Roanoke, Virginia. He was born August 14, 1942 in Rockview, Wyoming County, WV to Goldie Short Rose of
Beckley, WV, and the late Nehemiah Myre Hurley. Vernon was predeceased by his first wife and mother of
his four children, Donna Allen Hurley, in 2004. He is survived by his loving wife Anne Bleakley Jones Hurley
whom he married February 7, 2018, and her son Freddie Bruce; his Children: Keith Duty and sons Paul and
Logan; daughter Carol Lynn and husband Terry Privett; son Christopher and Amanda Lynn Hurley and
grandchildren Elyn and Liam, who were the sunshine of his life; and Jeremy Hurley. He is also survived by
his sister Carrol and husband Karl Ullrich, and brother Stephen and wife Linda Pannel Hurley. A memorial
service will be held 5:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2018 at Rockcastle Baptist Church, Rockview, West Virginia.
There will be a later memorial service at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church in Georgia, after which his ashes
will be interred in Christ Church Frederica, St. Simons Island, GA."
