Larry Daniel Asbury, 61, of 1235 Hidden Valley Drive, Martinsville, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem.
He was born Jan. 21, 1946, in Panther-McDowell County, W.Va., to Phillip "Red" Asbury and Francis Mae Jackson Asbury. His parents preceded him in death.
He was a Vietnam veteran of the Army. He received the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Combat Infantryman Badge and the Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device. He retired from J&J Southeast after more than 39 years of service and was a member of the Paper Allied Industrial, Chemical and Energy Workers International Union. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel R. Asbury of Collinsville; a son, Danny Asbury of Martinsville; stepson, Bobby Harmon of Collinsville; a brother, Kirk Asbury of Benson, Ariz.; a sister, Iris Jean O'Dell of Henry; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Chapel with Chaplain Dan Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park...."

Mr. McComas was a former employee of Norfolk Southern Railroad and a U.S. Army veteran.
