"U.S. Veteran; Bobby Jack Cook, 84, who spent most of his life in Mullens, passed away on October 10, 2018 at his home in Scott Depot, WV he lovingly shared with his daughter, Suzanne Nichols, her husband Steve Nichols, and grandchildren Jack Peters, Emerson Dial, Carson Nichols, Ethan Nichols and Madison Peters of Huntington. Also left to cherish his memory is his son, David Cook and wife Monica and grandson, John David of Montgomery."Bobby was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 43 years, Peggy (Brooks) Cook, parents Wendell and Marie (Myers) Cook and his sister Brenda Houck.
"Bobby served his country in the United States Army from 1958-1960. He was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad for 25 years until glaucoma started to take his sight. In 1993, Bobby lost all of his sight but it didn't slow him down. He remained positive, never said “I can't do that” and continued to live life to the fullest. Bobby loved meeting new people, dancing, and engaging in new adventures. He enjoyed his time at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical center learning to use a computer and other technology.

"Richard "Dick" McKinley Ashworth, 63, of Proctorville, Ohio went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2005. He was born June 19, 1942, in Welch, WV, a son of Eloise West-Ashworth (B. 1922) of Ft. Myers, FL and the late Ezra McKinley Ashworth (1915-1978)."Upon graduating from WVU in 1965, Dick worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Richmond, Va. In 1970, he moved his family to Beckley, WV, where he went into the family-owned business, Ashworth's True Value Hardware Store and Ashworth's Suzuki and Harley Davidson Shop. He also worked several years as sales manager with Dr. Pepper in Beckley.
"Music had always played an important role in his life. As a young man he played and recorded with the "Teen Tones" from Beckley. After serving a year as interim music director at Memorial Baptist Church in Beckley, he was called to a part time position as music and youth director at First Baptist Church in Hinton, WV. In 1986, Dick was called as a full time Minister of Music and Youth and Senior Adults at First Baptist Church in Kenova, WV. He was involved with the Youth for Christ program.
"Some of his favorite times were taking his teens on Mission Tours to Myrtle Beach, SC and planning and driving his Senior Adults and Saint's Alive Choir to many venues of service. Throughout his life and especially in this last year, he would always say "Because God is so amazing, I am so blessed!"
"In addition to his mother, Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Shea Lee Davis-Ashworth (B. 1943); two sons and their wives, Richard M. Ashworth, Jr. and Rebecca A. Ashworth, Christopher D. Ashworth and Melissa K. Ashworth; one very special grandson, Nathan Ashworth; a sister and brother-in-law, Lila Ashworth-McCormack and K. "Buzz" McCormack of Beckley, two brothers-in-law and their wives, H. Cole Davis and Jeannie of Tucson, AZ, and D. Edward Davis and Linda of Morgantown, WV; a niece, Shea Lively; nephews, Evan, Ryan and Coleman Davis, and David and Matthew McCormack; and one very special friend, Dave McComas.
"A celebration of his life will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2005, at the First Baptist Church of Kenova, of which he was a member, with the Rev. Tom Sharp, the Rev.
