"Maudie May Kennedy Jackson, 82, of Barren Springs, died Monday in Wythe County Community Hospital.
Born in McDowell County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Bethenia Justice Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Jackson; three daughters, Maxine Saferight, Hazel Pansy Mitchell and Allie Mae Ring; and one son, Ronald Dallas Jackson.
Surviving are five daughters, two sons, two sisters, 57 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Barnett Funeral Chapel, Wytheville, with the Rev. Hubert Meadows officiating.
Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery on Pepper's Ferry Road , Wythe County.
Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, is in charge of the arrangements.

"Elish Ray Jackson, 81, of Wytheville died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 3 p.m. at the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Collins officiating. Interment was in the St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery with American Legion Post 9 conducting graveside military rites.
He was a retired construction worker and was a member of the Crockett Tabernacle.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Maudie Kennedy Jackson; a daughter; five sisters; and a brother.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters and sons-in-law; two sons and daughter-in-law; a brother and sister-in-law; three sisters; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
