2018 in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born on February 15, 1952 in Mullens, WV a son of
the late Rev. Thomas A. and Agnes Hatfield Day. Larry attended the Four Winds Tabernacle and Mill Creek
Freewill Baptist Church. He is a member of the UMWA Local 1704. In addition to his parents he is preceded
in death by a brother Timothy Ray Day. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years Marsha Fauline Miller
Day; two daughters Teresa Ann (Charles) McIntyre of Bunker, MO and Alegisha Dawn (Michael) Short of
Mill Creek; three brothers Thomas Austin (Rennea) Day, Jr. of Green Camp, Anthony Mark (Bobbie Jo) Day
of Shannon Mill Creek and Micah D. (Edna Jackson) Day of Victoria, VA; step mother Linda Thompson Day
of Mill Creek; two granddaughters Erica (Anthony Toler) Mitchell and Haley (Brian) Lester; a grandson
Michael Thomas Short; two great grandchildren Eian Lester and Grayson Toler; and a host of other loving
family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 8 PM on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at the Mill Creek
Freewill Baptist Church, Shannon Mill Creek, WV with Rev. Clayton Cline and Bro. Wayne Bailey officiating.
Friends may gather with the family from 6-8 PM on Wednesday at the church. Pallbearers will be David
Bailey, Adam Bailey, Samuel Bailey, Tommy Bailey, Brian Lester and Austin Edwards. In keeping with his
wishes he will be cremated following the service. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral

"James Stanley Smith, 63, of Clear Fork, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 27, 2018
surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 3, 1955, the son of the late James Arthur and Blanche
Mae Lusk Smith. James was a member of the Brier Creek Tabernacle where he served as a deacon. He was
also a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret
Stafford; and two brothers, Howard and David Smith. Immediate surviving family include his loving wife of
39 years, Debbie Trent Smith; his daughter, Candace and husband Richard Day of Dunbar; two sons, James
Brandon Smith of Charleston and Matthew and wife Samantha Smith of Painesville, OH; three
grandchildren Trenton Matthew Smith, Whitley Lynn Smith, and due to arrive in May, Mylo James Day; and
his faithful companion, his dog Cruz. In addition, he is survived by two sisters, Ollie Bognar and Thelma
Brooks; seven brothers B.C., Art, Thomas, Mervin, Roger, Eugene and George Smith; and a host of other
loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Clear Fork
Valley Baptist Church, Clear Fork, WV with Dr. Mervin Smith and Pastor Erwin Gregory officiating. He will
be laid to rest in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9
PM on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being
