"YUKON - Reverend Woodrow Shelton, 84, of Yukon, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, from his residence, January 17, 2008 with his family by his side, after fighting a brief illness."Mr. Shelton was born September 7, 1923 in Cocke County, Tenn., a son of the late Monroe and Lillian Alexdriana Shelton. He was a retired coal miner and had been a minister of the word of God for 54 years. Also, he was the last surviving member of his original family.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Tilda Shelton; second wife, Opal Shelton; two daughters, Linda Gaye Shelton and Karen Alberta Atwell; a grandson, Carlos Muncy; a stepson, Richard Atwell; a brother, Ivan Shelton; and four sisters, Geneva Shelton, Ruby Hicks, Betty Loomus and Edith Shelton.
