"Betty was the oldest member of the Glen Fork Baptist Temple where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years and held several other positions in the church. Betty loved her church and community. She was “Grandmother” to her community. Betty was a 1948 graduate of Oceana High School and served as Miss Oceana in 1948. Betty was the first Curb Girl in Wyoming county, working for her brother at Johnny’s Drive In.
"She was preceded in death by her first husband Denny Acord Jr.; son, Jody Acord; brothers and sisters, Johnny Stepp, Sue Stepp and James ‘”Jim” Stepp.
