He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margie Copeland Owens; two brothers; and four sisters.
"Mr. Owens was a member of Providence Baptist Church, was retired from the railroad and Stanley Furniture.
"He was a Veteran serving in World War II.

"Born on Feb. 16, 1918 in Wilmore, she was a daughter of the late John and Nina Byerle Owens. She had been a resident of the Life Care Center in New Market for the past 2 years and had lived most of her life in Crumpler. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Crumpler United Methodist Church.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Otey.
"Survivors include: Son: James Otey and wife Mary of New Market, Va.; grandson: Matthew Otey of Pittsburgh, Pa.; granddaughter: Catherine Otey of Hoboken, N.J.; brothers: Raymond Owens of Jacksonville, Fla. and Pat Owens of Bluewell.
