"Elvia Bowles, 97, of the Westwood Nursing Home in Bluefield, VA, formerly of Lilly Grove in Princeton, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her residence. Born July 27, 1916 in Caretta, WV she was the daughter of the late Elige L. Hicks and Nancy Eveline Collins Hicks. Elvia was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She loved canning, gardening, and quilting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Delph; second husband, Alfred "Bus" Bowles; two sons, Roy Lee Delph and an infant son; four daughters, Ruby Goldie Hicks, Mary Ann Woodard, Nancy E. Mastrandrea, and Lola Katherine Nasatsky; nine brothers; and four sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include one son, Madison Delph and wife Joyce of King George, VA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Fred Farley officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Christian Pritchard, Brandon Whitlow, John Mastrandrea, James Ken Lockhart, Harvey Woodard, and Jack Nasatsky. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Saturday. "
