She was a resident of Welch since 1975, formerly of Capels. She was a member of Mountain Top Baptist Church on Premier Mountain. She formerly served as a cook for the McDowell County Board of Education."In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard D. Russ; two brothers, Charles Rutherford and Robert Miller; two sons, Jerry Russ and David Russ.
