" Coy Donald Williams, 90, of Princeton, WV entered Heaven's gate on July 22, 2019. He was born in Patrick Springs, VA to the late Thomas and Lula Mae Williams. At an early age he moved to Carswell, WV and lived there until he moved to Princeton in 1986.

"He served in the United States Army from October 1946 to March 1948. He, also, was retired from the Cannelton Coal Company of Superior, WV and was a member of the UMWA, Local 6029. He was one of the co-founders of the Carswell Community Church established in 1965. Serving as the church superintendent until his death. He was a fervent prayer warrior who loved the Lord. His love showed to everyone, encouraging all to accept the Lord, and continually quoting Matthew 24:13. He will be well remembered by his testimony and singing, especially his most requested song, "One Day at a Time." He often stated that one day he would go "zoom, zoom, zoom, past the moon" and he did exactly that on Monday morning.

"He treasured his family and thrived on telling each of them that God should be the center of their lives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Dovie Greathead and Betty Jean Williams, his brothers: Reverend Douglas Williams and Thomas Luther Williams, Jr.

"Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 71 years, Gladys Roark Williams, his sisters: Geneva Perdue of Princeton, WV and JoAnn England of Kimball, WV, his sons: Reverend Donald Williams and wife Sue, Danny Williams and Connie, and Timothy Williams and wife Dawn. Also, many grandchildren, three of which he raised: Joshua Williams, Zachary Williams, and Jude Williams. Other survivors include many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

"Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 6PM to 9PM at the Carswell Community Church, Carswell, WV (near Kimball, WV). The service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Carswell Community Church with Reverend Donald Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Princeton, WV. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeffery England.

"PRINCETON - Dorothy Mae Williams, the last surviving member of her family, entered Heaven's gate on January 22, 2017.

"She was born at Bottom Creek, WV to the late James Overton Stanley and Mattie Frith Stanley on February 14, 1924.

"She was affectionately called "Valentine" as a child.

"During her early years in McDowell County, she worked in several of the company stores and enjoyed her hobbies of skating and swimming.

"She was a prayer warrior and active in her husband's ministry of over 60 years. She was a member of the two churches her husband founded: Lilly Grove Community Church in Princeton, WV and Carswell Community Church in Carswell, WV.

"She loved the Lord and her love showed through to everyone who knew her and in the poems and songs she wrote. She cherished her family and thrived on teaching each of her children that God should be the center of their lives.

"She was preceded in death by her first husband, Benjamin Franklin Dunford, Sr., in 1945. Then, in 2014, her husband of 65 years, Reverend Douglas Calvin Williams, Sr., passed away, and in that same year her oldest son, Benjamin Franklin Dunford, Jr., tragically passed away. Her nine siblings also preceded her death.

"She is survived by her children who adored her: Peggy Dunford Mitchell of Church Hill, TN, Sharon Williams of Princeton, WV, Doug Williams, Jr. and wife Janis of Beckley, WV, and Rena Hall and husband Rick of Princeton, WV; cherished daughter-in-law, Janice Cross Dunford of Memphis, TN and her precious sister-in-law, Mary Louise Stanley of Fairview, TN. Other survivors include her grandchildren: Jeff Mitchell, Jennifer Stoner, Nikki Beasley, Ashley Williams, Aaron Williams, Allison Williams, Jessica Basham and Amanda Shrewsbury. Also, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special friends: Margaret Shrewsberry, Kari Shrewsbury and Becky Williams.

"Services to celebrate the life of Dorothy Mae Williams will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Donald Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.

"KIMBALL — Betty Jean Williams of Kimball, WV., “Carswell Addition” went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning September 7, 2014 at her home after a sudden illness. Betty was the daughter of the late Luther Williams and Lula Mae Whitt Williams. She was a graduate of Welch High School and began her career with the McDowell County School System in September, 1972. She taught at Kimball, Superior and Welch until 1988 when she became Principal at Hemphill. She retired as Principal at Fall River on December 30, 1994. She also served as Principal in Coalwood and Panther. Betty was affiliated with the Carswell Community Church, was a loving and devoted Mother and Christian and was a resident of McDowell County all of her life. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Williams. One sister, Dovie Greathead and two brothers, Reverend Douglas C Williams Sr. and Luther Williams Jr. She is survived by two sons, Vincent Wayne Williams of Mullens, WV., and David “Davo” Williams and wife Tammie of Princeton, WV. Two sisters, Geneva Perdue of Princeton, WV., JoAnn England of Kimball, WV., one brother, Coy Williams and wife Gladys of Princeton, WV., and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday September, 12, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel in Northfork, WV., with Speaker Donald Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Park in Princeton, WV. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Thursday September 11, 2014 from 6 until 8PM.
