"Iaeger-- Willis Wilson Chafin, 63 from Iaeger died Saturday in a Bluefield hospital.
"Born at Red Jacket in Mingo County, he was a retired railroad employee and a veteran of the Korean
War. He was a member of the Welch Church of Christ. He was the son of the late Andrew Jackson
Chafin and Sadie Bacus Chafin of Beech Creek.
"He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
"Survivors include two daughters, Judy Lynn Hatfield of Gary and Beverly Chafin of Iaeger; two sons
Stanley Chafin of Josephine, and Timothy Chafin of Iaeger; one brother , two sisters and four
grandchildren.
"Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mounts Funeral Home in Gilbert.
" Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens in Mathney."

"Betty Hatfield Chafin, 91, of Bluefield, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday August 10, 2019 in
Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield, WV. She was born on July 21, 1928 in Devon, WV, a daughter
of the late Elliott and Clara Noe Hatfield. She is a member of the Brushfork Church of Christ and the last
surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents he is preceded in death by her
husband Willis W. Chafin; a daughter Judy Lynn Hatfield; a granddaughter Tammy Sue Hatfield; two
grandsons Ethan and Noah Diehl; two brothers Herman and Scott Hatfield; and a sister Maggie Bright.
Survivors include a daughter Beverly Chafin of Bluefield; two sons Stanley (Judy) Chafin of Coal City and
Timothy (Vickie Gail) Chafin of Iaeger; five grandchildren Heaven Lynn Chafin Boyd, John Paul Chafin,
Christopher Ray Chafin, Tara Lough and Amber Diehl; six great grandchildren Emmilea Hatfield, Lauren
Hatfield, Kassie Hatfield, Kacie Lester, Logan Lester and Benton Diehl; one great great grandson Ryker
Hatfield; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Thursday
August 15th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. She will be laid to rest in Palm
Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family at 12PM on Thursday August 15th at
the funeral home. Pallbearers will be John Paul Chafin, Christopher Ray Chafin, Logan Lester, Benton
Diehl, Dustin Lough and Dewayne Diehl. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home,
Lynco, WV."

"Mary Rife, 86, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Sunday August 11, 2019 in Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV following a sudden illness. She was born on May 31, 1933 a daughter of the late Lee and Effie Chafin Gillespie. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Raven Rife; a son Delmus Rife; grandson Delbert Rollins; three brothers and four sisters. Mary was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother to those left to cherish her memory. Survivors include a son Ellis (Glenda) Rife of Oceana; daughters Rosie Rife of NC and Anna Browning of TX; grandchildren Jeremy (Cassie) Rife of Oceana, Melinda (Andrew) Riddle of NC, Leslie Rollins of NC, Sirena Browning of TX and Jerry Lee Browning of Beckley; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends.
